Like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights is set in the Forgotten Realms and mainly focuses on the eponymous city of Neverwinter, which lies at the northern half of the Sword Coast but takes the player to all sorts of places, such as Rashemen, the Underdark and even Maztica.
There are two main games in the series, both of which received a number of expansion packs: Also unlike BG, it is based on Dungeons & Dragons v3.5 rules instead of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd Edition.
